The Master Charger Gig at the Ram

I hoped this Gig was going to be outside, it wasn't and yes the lighting was terrible. Even worse than the last time I was there (they had a row of lights out apparently). So all the photo's I took weren't that good either, So I've been trying out noise reduction software. The best up to yet are Noiseware Pro http://imagenomic.com/nw.aspx and The NIC collection by Google http://www.niksoftware.com/nikcollection/usa/intro.html but even they are struggling to save these photo's, oh well it's all part of the learning process. The Bands were good though and I manged to give out a few business cards, not that I would charge them for these photo's, but perhaps I could trade them for a like on Facebook.

The three bands were.

PULL THE TRIGGER

I also managed to blag some free booze too, so it wasn't all bad (paying for it now though).

First attempt at designing a Business card

Thought I would try an drum up a little business at tonight's Gig with Master Charger, so I had to quickly come up with a business card design. I think I may need more practice and do more research, but it will do for tonight.

Master Charger at the Ram.

Working with Master Charger again tonight. They're busy chaps. This time at the Ram in Mansfield. I'm hoping they will be playing outside, because the last time I tried to do some Photo's for them at this venue, it was so dark that I had to do all the photo's in black and white, otherwise they were way to grainy and I don't like using the flash.

See what I mean. Anyway should be a fun night, they always have cheap booze on.

J.H.P the singer and Guitar player in Master Charger rang me and asked me if I wanted to take some photo's of them at the Diamond Club, Sutton in Ashfield. Well, this is a local club to me and one I have not been in for about 20 yrs. So it was a trip down memory lane. The place had certainly changed, it now had a food bar and you didn't stick to the floor, apparently some of the greats had played there, put now they just put on tribute bands (probably why I had not been there for 20 yrs, can't stand tribute bands) and tonight was no exception, Master Charger was supporting a Guns n Roses tribute, we didn't stick around to see what they were like, so I can't comment on how good they were. However the venue turned out to be an excellent place for taking photo's, with a proper stage and lighting and the band were pleased withe the shots I got. So here they are.

New Venture

Well here we have it, my first Blog entry. In a brand new chapter of my life, hopefully. I've got a lot to learn and I am sure I am going to make many mistakes and they will all be documented in this blog.

I decided a year a ago that I would attempt to change my hobby into something I can make a little bit of money out of and it has taken me till now to actually decide to do it. The idea was to provide cheap promotional media for bands and extreme sports companies. The reason for concentrating on these two are through familiarity. I've been in bands for 25 yrs and working in adventure sports for the last 13 yrs. They both have one thing in common, the people involved usually don't have a lot of money, hence providing them with a cheap service to self promote.

I'm not providing a service that provides a promise to get thousands of likes on Facebook, because we all know that's a load of crap. I'm offering a service that will improve the look of your online presence. Through    enhancing and optimizing your photo's, making your video's look better and maybe even doing a little bit of graphic design and 3D work.

Well lets see where the journey takes me.

Maish.
